Moodlight

Moodlight is an exhibit that would be featured in MIMU, the Moving Image Museum. The exhibit focuses on the psychology of color and how that impacts various factors of film, such as the plot, the relationship between characters, the emotions, and more.

Visual Identity / Exhibition Design

My goals were to immerse the viiewers and give them a deeper understanding of the importance that color has on film. My intentions were to create a bigger connection between the thinking behind each choice the director made with the viewer.

Explore the Process Here

Posters
The poster series uses a friendly style typeface to create an aura of elegance and mystery for the viewers that pass by to feel curious about the exhibit.

Booklet
The booklet explains more about what colors mean and how it affects film.  It showcases feature spreads of specific colors and the correlations with instances in movies.

Website
To accentuate the movement of the viewer’s eyes, viewers can scroll through and explore different colors through the repeated icons used as containers for videos and type.

Wayfinding

Interactive Spatial
In the exhibit, viewers will be able to pick a color from the color wheel and view a clip in how the color is being used. The color wheel is compiled of over 60 films and each clip is 5-7 seconds long.

I’ve learned...Using Different Medias
I was able to adapt to different softwares to create what I envisioned, such as Madmapper and Touch OSC.
Trust in the Process
This project helped me learn how to hold back but also when to let go when going through the process.
