MIMU

The Moving Image Museum is a hypothetical rebrand that focuses on capturing the depth and versatility of film through a fresh perspective.

Brand Identity System

My goals were to celebrate the magic and connection that film has with guests and to create an atmosphere that was flexible through the elements, such as the typeface, grid, and colors.

Explore the Process Here

Posters
The poster series utilizes the custom typeface and color to create contrast and dimension in relation to the grid and imagery.

Booklet
Distributed at the beginning of the guest’s experience in the museum so that guests can feel excitement when they enter the building. It features maps, current screenings, upcoming events, and more.

Website
The wbesite and mobile utilizes the grid to contain scenes from movies and type to show the flexibility that the grid pertains.

Wayfinding
Using the main typeface, it builds a system through the wayfinding and how I envision the guests to be able to go through the building. I wanted the building to reflect the grid that I developed to keep it consistent.

I’ve learned... Finding a Structure
I was able to find how to balance what I’ve developed and create a system that could use the elements throughout.
Creating a Typeface
Creating a custom typeface helped me be meticulous about the details in creating words and looking at the spacing between each letter.
Reflecting the Purpose
I was able to develop a brand system that recommunicates and articulates the message that I aimed to show.
